Johnson Family Projects
Any job, large or small - it all gets showcased here. Just look at how we waste time on the weekends!
"Joe the Jawa" Project
Allie and Emily wanted to dress up as Jawas for the presentation ceremony of R2-KT to the Johnson family. Kathy and I threw together something quick and it looked great for the occasion. Now Allie and I want to fix it up to look as close to perfect as we can so she can wear it for a costume and I can use it on a mannequin next to R2-KT.
Allie and I decided R2-KT need a buddy. Fellow Star Wars fans have shown us how easy it is to make a Power Droid from Star Wars (also known as a 'gonk droid' because of the gonk-ish noise it makes). So we decided to throw ourselves into another project.
I've always had an interest in WWII, but after dad passed away I became even more interested in learning about his generation and the conflicts they fought. As a costumer, I knew of guys who were doing WWII re-enacting and asked about it. Before I knew it, I was in uniform as a paratrooper and volunteering at educational events and blank-firing combat re-enactments. It's a lot of fun and very informative and the veterans I've met seem appreciative of the homage.
Nemmerle is the campaign world I'm creating for use in a group D&D game. I never thought I'd get back into D&D, but I remember how much fun it was story-telling, role-playing, and socializing with friends. Also, this world allows me a chance to flex some creative muscles and give a home to all the crazy ideas I've had over the years.
