The Ten Elven Kingdoms
The elves have long been the custodians of Nemmerle. They know her magicks better than anyone, they keep her history, they safeguard her secrets. All elves ultimately pay homage to Adulien, but most make their homes throughout the world and prefer the forests to settle. Man may seek to conquer and win fame, dwarves may tunnel for gold and strong metals - but elves seek excellence and harmony in nature.

Throughout the world, it is the forest where elves are most often encountered. It is mostly wood elves that populate Nemmerle, but in more primitive areas the wild elves have made formidable homes. The high elves for the most part remain in Adulien, venturing out as ambassadors to the human and dwarven kingdoms and overseeing the ten elven kingdoms from their forests of Haethor.

It is the drow of which the least is known. Keeping to their subterranean lairs, they are rumored to rule beneath the wastelands of Ongolk, to have conquered the low hills all over Cierath, and may have even overcome the mountains overlooking Evolos to the west. Of the rumors that all great caverns somehow connect into one great underworld, there is no proof. But if there is a place hidden from the sun then the drow will seek to exploit it.

  1. Adulien
Ruler : Calyondon & Lútheldë Shalothdal
    Capital City : Haethor
    Chief Deity : Corellon Larethian
Standard : A Silver Swan surrounded by three eight-pointed Stars on a Blue Field
Description : Island home of the Elves, considered by some to be their birthplace in the dawn of Nemmerle. Here is the center of the Corellon Larethian religion: the Great Tree of Aaralon is gleaming white and gargantuan and is the chief cathedral to Corellon Larethian. Predominantly populated by gray elves, Adulien nonetheless is also home to elves of every kind. Tribes of wood elves and even wild elves are scattered throughout the enormous forest that covers the island. Aquatic elves thrive all along the shoreline in underwater caves that dot the coast.

Adulien has a massive navy defending her shores. The island is predominantly forest, where dozens of cities occupy the upper tree tops and elves live at one with the land. While not a Kingdom of Man, it is still a sovereign power to be reckoned with. Kingdoms of Elves occupy large wooded areas throughout Nemmerle, but all pay homage to Adulien.

  2. Ulynar
Ruler : Adanir & Lostauriel Kevalynnryl
Standard : A silver letter "U" in Elven on a purple field. Next to the letter is a silver three-leafed milleon flower native to the woods of Ulynar.
Description : The elven kingdom of Ulynar enjoys relative solitude from the humans of Treviland. Near the sea, Ulynar trades elven goods with passing traders. It also safeguards the valley to the south.

  3. Eida'Las
Ruler : Dûrion & Ghilwen Runaldal
Standard : A white caravel against an blue sea with a top border of waves or clouds.
    Description :

  4. Aldalinh
Ruler : Erutádur & Raida Laragaial
Standard : A dark tree on a dark green field with a blue stream running beneath it. An elven shield hangs from the tree.
Description : The Aldalinh elves have faced centuries of opposition with the humans in this region - partly because they sit between Plenios and Tirudor and therefore get in the way during times of war, and partly the location of Aldalinh: astride the Ivian river that flows from Novulum all the way to the sea and through three kingdoms of man. After centuries of fighting there has been an uneasy truce called. Traffic is freely allowed along the river and the road that cuts east-west through the woods, but the Treaty of Corlaer dictates that no non-elf shall enter the woods themselves without permission.

  5. Te'Inhir
Ruler : Tûrin & Daufindiel Mithvantinu
Standard : A dark green owl on a light green field. The owl sits atop a branch, looking over its shoulder. Its eye is silver. Two oak branches are located in the upper left corner.
    Description :

  6. Ari'Aahn
Ruler : Nibenonion & Vaniel Nhatanellyn
Standard : Three orange elven knives and chaplet on a field of tan.
Description : Living so close to the desert, the Ari'aahn elves have perfected irrigation techniques to preserve their lush forest from the arid climate. Ari'aahn tend to wear loose robes to ward off the sun when they venture out of the woods, preferring tans and light browns to the more spring-like colors of their temperate-climate brothers. Ari'aahn are vigilant against the threats coming out of the east, ever growing patrols of orcs and gnolls looking to invade the center of Amadar. The favored weapon of the Ari'aahn is the elven knife, which they throw with deadly accuracy. It was here the first elven general Côffindcan Bererear fell during the great war one thousand years ago. His tomb is buried deep within the woods and is a place of honor among elves around the world. Legend has it that the great sword of evil, plucked from the armada that invaded from Ongolk, is buried in the tomb. Anti-paladins from the east have sought to find and steal the blade, but it remains safe thanks to the diligence of the Ari'aahn.

  7. Birrinea
Ruler : Aindur & Raina Nallmiel
Standard : The eight-point star of Nallmiel, surrounded by the twenty points of Amoniel and the forty points of Ageruiel, on a field of black - symbols which are tied to the history of Birrinea.
Description : Birrinea hosts more mythical creatures than any other forest due to its location on in the borders of Mythens. It also studies older magic than most elves.

  8. Lo'Shella
Ruler : Vanithil & Faelilla Laeraidren
Standard : A full moon featured with a stern face and red hair flowing in the wind, on a field of gold.
Description : The elves of Gaedon Bay they are called, for their kingdom overlooks the bay between Mythens and the Gaeadon continent. The elves of Lo'Shella are considered friends of sailors, of the sea, and of the elements. They are the protectors of the strait of Darthalion and are thought to have influence from the moon itself. Many nights there are lights seen on the shore of Mythens and attributed to the elves, warding ships from their coast. Other legends tell of the moon maiden Darthalion herself, for whom the strait was named, who would appear on the promontories aglow of silver. Her song was said to carry over the seas and bewitch the elves from Eida'las to Teliddia. The elves of Lo'Shella are fond of the night and the moon and so have a tradition of hunting humanoid races that travel at night. The Temple of Lo'Shella is a prominent place of worship of Corellon Larethian.

  9. Ondirron
Ruler : Tidurron & Laielena Rolodiir
Standard : A gold knotted design on purple
Description : The largest settlement of wild elves, Ondirron peacefully co-exists with the barbarian and druid tribes of humans that dwell in the interior of Kyre but rarely do the elves venture from their woods. Unlike other elf kingdoms, Ondirron eschews grand, cathedral-like palaces amidst the trees in favor of earthier dwellings that blend in better with the foliage. Ondirron elves are wary of outsiders, especially those that don't seem at home in the woods or are not from Kyre, and they are keen to hide their presence. It is boasted than an unknowing traveller could stroll through the midst of Ondirron without even knowing they were in the presence of a sprawling elven kingdom. The scouts of Ondirron are reputed to be the best rangers in the world and virtually invisible in their environment. The elves of these woods have fought a centuries-old war with the drow kingdom that lurks beneath the mountains east of Kandel.

  10. Teliddia
Ruler : Authaias & Talawen Sharondalan
Standard : An elven sword on a field of red. A silver letter 'T' in elven is emblazoned in the corner.
Description : Teliddia is the last remnant of elves in the east. Centuries of war and corruption of the Scynna continent drove out the forest-dwelling and peace-loving elves, leaving behind only their wicked kin the drow. The survivors settled the forested island and entrenched themselves against future attacks from the humanoid forces of Cierath and the sorcerous powers of Suramir. This has made the Teliddia elves grow to become some of the most fierce warriors known in elvenkind - their very survival has depended on it. Elves travel across the known world to study at the feet of the Teliddian masters, and the blades made here are second to none in design and magic.
