At last! They're here! At approx. 7:45 September 20th the babies were delivered via c-section. Everything went
very well for mommy and babies. Totally unexpected but a happy suprise. Julianna Grace was born at 5 pounds, 6 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. Elizabeth Grace was born 3 minutes
later and measured 5 pounds, 2 ounces and 18 1/4 inches long. Both girls scored 9 and 10 on their apgar
tests, which is pretty extraordinary for any baby but especially for twins!

Mommy is out of town for the weekend. Here's what we've been up to...
Babies help decorate my new stormtrooper trunk
Hanging out on the big bed...
The girls kept making a beeline for the back door, so we camped out a bit. These first few shots are of them peering through the window of the back door. NO, I did NOT leave them there like that! But they do look funny! "How much is that baby in the window?" :)
Miserably hot outside, so I put up a fan. The girls look pretty happy.
Lil Bit practiced going up the steps several times. Julie was bored with that - she's already a pro at standing.
Guess where Julie learned THAT face? Thank you, grandma!!! :)

Our friend Cricket is a fan of the sci-fi series 'Firefly'. She made some cool knit caps based on one of the characters on the show. The girls seem to be geeking out in style and loving it! Thanks, Aunt Cricket!
Spring is in full effect. Some goof shots of the girls in their new outfits and at the park.

Julianna says: "Check out my sneaky pacifier-stealing technique!"
When Kathy puts the babies in their exer-saucers, she jokes that the babies are 'going to work' because it looks like they're in their own little offices busy with whatever babies do. Looks like poor Elizabeth fell asleep on the job. :(

March 20th marked the babies' 6-month birthday! So to celebrate we decided to let the babies enjoy an early birthday cake. Watch as the inevitable mess unfolds...
Julianna takes an early lead with her new-found eye-hand coordination. Elizabeth doesn't seem to know what to do...<<
It's starting to get messy for Julianna... Elizabeth gets her first big taste...

Julianna throws caution to the wind and slurps down everything she can find...
Now for the results. Looks like Julie is the winner! Or loser? Time to get the hose...
The girls came downtown to eat lunch with Daddy. The state capitol grounds are nice this time of year. Big sis was off for the day, so she joined in the fun. I think the girls are ready to meet Governor Sanford.

Kathy had a ball redecorating the upstairs bedroom into a nursery. Not done yet, but the Tropical theme is looking good, complete with Hula Monkeys, Flower Print sheets, and a Tiki statue. Aloha!

Mom had to move out on her own, so we decided to make use of the room. Kathy finally got to realize her dream of creating a nursery for her babies. She found some crib sets online that were tropical, so we went with a tropical theme. Add to that a recent trend of Hula Monkeys at Target, and you have our unique theme for the room.
