This page contains information detailing the 2009 Command Staff agenda items for the 2009 year.
LCO priorities for 2009 include:
- moving ahead with the costume approval process, specifically the touch situation with CRLs - I'm waiting to hear back from Thomas on what a reasonable goal would be for working on them
- working with Detachments to change the expectations that they should be part of the costume approval process, inviting them to design their 'Artisan' (elite) level of costuming requirements so we can post those as optional tracks alongside the CRLs eventually
initiate the new offices of Charity Accountant and Celebrity Liaison and build the networks in each Garrison to help support them - these will include sub-goals of how to make these departments work:
- charity accountant - secure contacts at world-wide level with major charities, poll the Garrisons for totals of funds raised in past years
- celebrity liaison - secure contacts with all celebrities and work out FAQ for how to handle them at functions
- Marching Manual project - design a simple manual for how to prep troopers for mass appearances, proper marching, logistical tips for working in large events, considerations we learned in Pasadena
- creating transparency in the Legion Council affairs, possibly create an office of Council Liaison who is in charge of digesting matters and reporting them to the general membership
- update the Legion website with options to appeal more to the worldwide community
- national flag icons that visitors can click to hear a 501st welcome message in their own language
- get more of the charter and other materials translated for world use
- roll out a workable image map for visitor
Charity Representative Agenda:
- secure contacts at world-wide level with major charities
- poll the Garrisons for totals of funds raised in past years
- establish Garrison level positions to help collect information on Charity Events/Contacts
- establish a Contact List for all the charities we work with across the Legion (This can be beneficial to folks trying to get their garrison involved in charity, or when a new Command Staff takes over and needs contacts.)
- Collect information on ALL charity events from the moment Al makes the office official, moving foward. Information will include the name of the Charity Event, Charity Amount Raised (if Any), list of members who attended, photos, and a summary of the event, along with the contact information of the charity.
- Overhaul the Charity webpage on the 501st Legion Site. I'd like to see small articles on charity events that are happening, along with photo albums, and announcements at the end of the year on how much the Legion has done/raised.
Sending some of the charity events information over to Static Burst and the 501st-Cast to generate interest.
